How you spend your morning can have a profound effect on the tone for the rest of your day. Have a think about what the first hour of your day looks like. Is it rushing around trying to cram things in, or is it started soft and gentle, perhaps with some meditation? This can leave you being in either a frantic or empowered state of mind. It pays off to optimise your morning routine!

 

If having an hour to yourself in the morning is not realistic, even just 10 minutes to yourself can set you up for a successful day. Below are some of our tips to create your ‘hour of power’ morning routine.

 

Do something that gives you energy! This may be waking up at sunrise and practicing breathwork. Simply just being outside with nature helps wake up your body. 

 

Next, move your body! Whether it’s a walk, yoga class, running or swimming, moving your body in the morning has been shown to improve focus and mental abilities throughout the day.

 

Set the tone for the day! A great way to do this is journaling, spending just 5 minutes writing a gratitude list or answering positive self-reflection questions can set you up for a great day. Time off technology and opting for a book or music in the morning can allow you to focus on things that make you feel good.
